The threetier structure %u2014 the Council, the Executive Committee, and the Secretariat %u2014 ensures a clear separation of roles between strategy formation and execution.The Council holds the responsibility of establishing HKIB%u2019s medium to long term direction. It advises the Executive Committee on matters related to banking industry development. On the other hand, the Executive Committee is accountable for the overall management of HKIB. This includes overseeing training programmes, granting qualifications, and managing collaborations with organisations in Hong Kong, Mainland China, and overseas. The Executive Committee also delegates tasks to other Committees as needed. Both the Council and the Executive Committee comprise seasoned professionals, regulators, and leaders from the banking and financial community in Hong Kong.To provide focused oversight and recommendations, several Committees and Sub-Committees have been established. The primary function of the Council is to provide guidance and advice to the Executive Committee on all matters concerning the Institute.
